Our Assigned Congregation

Our assigned congregation is Sangisa (pronounced Shan-gee-sha). It is a double Kingdom Hall with one congregation, Sangisa Valley, on top and ours on the bottom. Sangisa Valley enters through the top doors and we enter through the side doors which are down the stairs that I am standing next to.

If we were able to walk to the Kingdom Hall it would take about five minutes. But because we'd have to cross a very dangerous highway we have to drive. Around twelve of us from Bethel board a van and make the drive to the Kingdom Hall. Because traffic is so bad, it can take us up to 20 minutes to get to the meetings. The ride is always an adventure!

Our congregation is very warm and welcoming. We had a peak attendance of 153 two Sundays ago. There are 21 Elders, 22 Ministerial Servants, and 25 pioneers. They are hoping to split into two congregations very soon.

Imagine the singing of 150 plus brothers and sisters! Hopefully, due to the video, you won't have to. We sing as loud as we can, but we are still unable to hear ourselves. The singing is indescribable and I don't think that the video does it justice. The brothers and sisters really sing with all of their hearts. It's so moving.

One thing that we have really appreciated about being here in Nigeria is that the brothers and sisters have most of the kingdom songs memorized! They even have many of the NEW songs memorized and a lot of the brothers haven't even attended their convention yet!
